Osasuna routs Alaves 3-0 at El Sadar to close out 2025
Los Rojillos Score Twice in Final 10 Minutes After Trailing by Two Goals
Club Atlético Osasuna (3-3-8, 12 points) salvaged a point on their visit to R.C.D. Mallorca (3-4-7, 13 points) after a thrilling 2-2 draw at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Saturday afternoon. Trailing by two goals in the 80th minute, Los Rojillos mounted a comeback, with forward Raúl García and defender Enzo Boyomo finding the net to equalize.
The match was evenly contested in the first half, with both teams displaying solid defensive work that limited clear scoring opportunities. Osasuna's midfielder Aimar attempted a shot from the edge of the box, but it was blocked by a defender. Mallorca's midfielders also struggled to capitalize on chances, as Samú Costa and Martin Valjent both had efforts thwarted. Osasuna nearly scored again when Víctor Muñoz delivered a cross, but it went unfinished. Defender Abel Bretones had a shot from the clearance, which also hit a defender, and Lucas Torró's second attempt was similarly denied.
In the second half, Osasuna began generating pressure, winning several consecutive corner kicks. Defender Jorge Herrando came close to scoring but narrowly missed the target. The turning point came in the 62nd minute when forward Vedat Muriqi converted a penalty for Mallorca after a minor contact between Boyomo Jan Virgil, which was preceded by a foul on Aimar in the midfield. Just four minutes later, Muriqi doubled the lead on a swift counterattack.
Despite the uphill battle, Osasuna persisted and sought to break through. The momentum shifted dramatically in the 82nd minute when Raúl scored from a set piece, reducing the deficit. The visitors intensified their efforts and earned the reward at stoppage time when Boyomo scored the equalizer. Initially ruled offside, the referee overturned the decision after a VAR review confirmed the Cameroonian was onside.
Osasuna's next match will be against C.D. Ebro on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Ibercaja Estadio in the Second Round of the Copa del Rey. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CET (5 p.m. GMT/1 p.m. ET). Following that, Los Rojillos will prepare for their league match against U.D. Levante at El Sadar on Monday, Dec. 8, at 9 p.m. CET (8 p.m. GMT/3 p.m. ET).
